HI, I’M DAVE AND WELCOME TO MY CHANNEL ON SPORTS CARDS-SPORTS MEMORABILIA-HISTORIC LOCATIONS-FOOD CHALLENGES-FAMOUS GRAVESITES-ROCKY!!
My favorite baseball card scene from a movie 🍿
There are quite a few movies out there that depict baseball cards but this scene from the 1942 classic “Pride of the Yankees” is by far my favorite! Imagine being a kid back during this time with a pocket full of tobacco cards!!

That's awesome, what movie is that from? Oh and look at the date on the bicycle race sign 😊
It’s your birthday! 110 years ago🥳 The movie clip is from “Pride of the Yankees” the story of Lou Gehrig
@@Joezeppi1 yup!! That was a great scene I'll have to check it out
@@Danamarie11684 Btw……. I like your recent addition to the “What are you doing” playlist😉
@Joezeppi1 they are the best, and I just realized the confession scene was season 2 episode 22 😄

everything is ok, but autographs and the way to go...!?
I couldn’t agree more my friend! Thanks for watching 👍
Sweet stuff!! The Allen & Ginter's. Andre Dawson, and Tyson's Punch Out were my favs. All of it is awesome though.

Cartwright later moved to my home of Oahu. He was the 1st Chief of the Honolulu Fire Dept. and was one of the founders of the 1st public library in Hawaii. He was quite prominent locally and actually served as the executor of the wills of both Queen Emma (wife of Kamehameha IV) and King Kalakaua. He is buried at Oahu Cemetary on Nuuanu Ave. in Honolulu. I have visited his grave. Many people leave flowers, letters, and baseballs at his grave. 🤙🤙🤙
Thank you for the history lesson my friend and thanks for watching!

Crazy how much the island has changed, that picture of the LIE just shows how congested it has become. The island really had such a pretty charm to it in the old pictures
It was definitely a different time to say the least

I love these. This is when I started buying cards. A nickel a pack with a big piece of gum. I have the same lament as others my age- I wish I had these cards today.

Hi, i m gonna visit the cemetary on march, i m from sicily. There is any chance I will find the lucania cripta open? It is close? Could i visit it on inside ?
I believe only family members have access to the inside…….good luck and thank you for watching!
Fun video! I put together a huge SI/sports mag collection back at the beginning of Ebay. Just been sitting in a closet for years and only in the last couple days have I realized how much that side of the memorabilia hobby has exploded with grading and all, CRAZY! Got every big issue and then some, and you might not be intersested in mags, but I have to share with you one you might like. I've got Roberto Clemente's 1st SI cover and when I got it in the mail, I realized the subscription label read "Bing Crosby", who happened to be part owner of the Pirates at the time! I removed a lot of labels, but that one's stayin. Sports Illustrated came out 3 different times and I've got the 1st and 2nd issues from 1936! A prominent collector who has one of the 1st copies knows of only 3 in existence! Thinking about doing a reveal video of them raw, then graded as I get them back, then sending the whole collection over to Heritage. Would be nice to keep the whole collection together
That’s awesome! A Sports Illustrated owned by Bing Crosby! That’s something you don’t see every day
@@Joezeppi1 Yeah, but it's much better than that cuz that Clemente issue is fairly high dollar cuz he's not only a HOFer, the HOF changed their eligibility rules because of him, AND Bing was part owner of the team. Anyhow, awesome collection you got there and what an understanding wife to let you have it in the BR!
Thank you for showing me Uncle John's final resting place. Can't get over how modest and classy it is. Thank you so very much.

I never said dick so much in my life 😂 you crack me up lol that was a classic movie! I loved the cars, now I have to watch it again, great video 😊
Growing up we had that bat in our garage.dad said that was his bat.lol he wasn't athletic.we couldn't use it.roger swung a club.
They definitely used heavier bats back in the day. Thanks for sharing!

Jimmy Burke was a legitimately bad dude. I mean, all the way to his soul. All the horrible things that happened to him when he was younger more or less guaranteed his life as a mafia associate.
Very true
I’m in contact with a dealer in boxing memorabilia who owns a blood stained collar signed by John. L.Sullivan saying, “for arguments sake 21:inches John.L.Sullivan. Awesomely framed too
That’s an incredible piece of history right there!!
@@Joezeppi1 he mounted it with photos and an autograph but it doesn’t say what fight the collar was from but must be worth a fortune. I collect memorabilia and always ask any big seller about their favourite items and you’d be surprised how many respond and share awesome stuff with you. I bought an autographed copy of Battling Nelson’s autobiography and the seller had a copy signed to Jim Jeffries which must be worth a lot of money. But the blood stained collar was the best I’ve seen so far. We were laughing about how addictive buying items to frame are when you run out of room and how many of them have ridiculously over the top framed items. I’m trying to stop now because I’m on the verge. If you’re a boxing fan you might be interested in Legends of Boxing RUclips channel has a Discord link where collectors and just fans communicate about what they like and what they think of all eras of boxing. I'm from the UK and we played Rounders at school with posts a little shorter than the ones in the picture. On a side note once i went to high school we played Baseball minus the mound. Every person in the UK who went to school played Rounders / Baseball and yet we don't have a pro league totally bizarre. Every kid at my school loved playing Rounders more than any other sport.
Thanks for watching and sharing that story my friend👍
